Dress for a Civil Wedding Ceremony

Polyvore

I stumbled upon this photo set by Polyvore  and just had to share it. I instantly thought that this would be a beautiful ensemble idea for a civil wedding ceremony.  A bride is a bride after all, no matter what type of ceremony she chooses and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, although not wearing this as a bride, really shows an example of what a city bride might wear on her special day.

Many couples choose to have a civil ceremony instead of elaborate, more traditional wedding. Some prefer the intimacy, some prefer the ability to do what they want, it may be a second marriage for the bride, or it may be that the couple prefers to save the huge expense of a larger, more elaborate wedding. No matter why you are choosing to have a civil ceremony, there is still some planning to do.

First and foremost, check into the specific laws and policies in your state, regarding who can legally perform a wedding ceremony as well as the requirements to receive a marriage license. Some states still require blood tests as well as a waiting period for the license.  Next, you need to organize or decide about the type of ceremony you want, so begin by selecting your officiant, special readings and vows.  You can be less traditional in a civil ceremony but make sure you discuss these options to determine what is allowed at the city hall, courthouse or other selected venue. And of course, if you need any help with what steps to take or options best suited for you, just give us a shout.

Whatever decisions you make, make sure you dress the part. It is your wedding day!
